MultiTerm (terminology database) is included in all Freelance plans. Most translators connect DeepL or Google Translate through free plugins, so MT costs nothing extra.
One more thing worth knowing: perpetual licenses for new freelancers no longer exist. RWS fully moved to subscriptions. If you have an old Studio 2021-2022 license you can upgrade, but you can’t buy a new perpetual one from scratch.

.sdlxliff via Okapi plugin: OmegaT doesn’t open Trados packages natively, but the free Okapi Framework solves this - it converts .sdlxliff to XLIFF and back. Most agency projects go through without issues.
What’s weaker or missing:

- Marketplace commission - if you find work through Smartcat’s marketplace, the platform takes 10-15% of your payment. If you bring your own clients, there’s no commission
- Platform dependency - your entire infrastructure (TMs, glossaries, projects) lives on their servers. If terms change, migrating is painful
- Some agencies don’t accept Smartcat packages - worth checking before you start

Wordfast Classic (limited free demo)¶
Wordfast Classic is a Microsoft Word add-in. In demo mode it lets you translate up to 500 segments per session for free. Useful for small documents. Not enough for consistent work on large projects.
