How is the character count calculated for a scan?
We run OCR on the file to read its visible text, then count the characters. For text PDFs and Word files we read the text layer directly, so it's instant and exact.
Whose prices does the calculator use?
Yours. The calculator never imposes our pricing - you enter your own per-page or per-word rate in your own currency, and it computes the quote from the document's real character count.
Is it really free?
Yes. There's no sign-up and no payment to use the calculator. A free account only adds saving your rate across devices and access to the full translation tool.
Do you store my documents?
No. The file is read to count characters and detect the language, then discarded - nothing is stored on our side.
How do you count pages?
By characters. A 'page' is a fixed number of characters you set (1800 by default, the industry standard), so a dense page and a sparse page are priced fairly.
